Scarlette Ateliers was born at B2/139, Safdarjung Enclave New Delhi, DL 110029, India, behind the white façade crossed by the bougainvillea -covered studio roof of a bay window on terrazzo , near an avalanche of cushions under the veranda , in the smell of Basanti chocolate cake, between two conversations with an adventurer of the Mughal forts and an explorer of the Nehru Place fabric market.
Opened in 2016 to guests passing through freshly disembarked from the airport or one of the trains crossing the peninsula, the Scarlette house in New Delhi has created a haven of softness with a Franco-Indian atmosphere. Whether you come to kiss Morpheus, drink a chai tea, have lunch alone or with someone, or fill your suitcases with Indian souvenirs , found in the four corners of the country.
The first collection of bed linen is designed to wrap our guests. We are quickly asked to leave with it, the pillowcases nestling in the luggage. From one line are born the others, bed linen, then table linen, kimonos and pajamas - a whole range of gear to feel as good at home as in India.
The creator and mother of the Ateliers, Pauline Bijvoet , landed three years earlier in New Delhi , in the suitcases of a Parisian fashion designer. At that time, she followed her everywhere, between looms, supplier appointments, cotton markets, printers, tables under mango trees and feet in the red earth. Having fallen in love with the city and its inhabitants, Pauline decided to stay there. In her head and heart remain the voices of her large family , her grandfather's old-fashioned scented roses, the grand dinners and beautiful table settings, Granny's recipes, her mother's bouquets, walks on the beach with her sister, the local market, Sunday lunches with uncles and aunts...

Scarlette Ateliers is a house of creation and edition of household linen and nightwear. Designed in Paris , our cottons are woven, printed, embroidered by hand between the south of the Indian peninsula and Rajasthan.
